Classroom Energy Kit
Use the Energy Stick to test the properties of materials around the classroom and the school yard. Did you know a carrot can conduct electricity? What about a greylead pencil? playdoh? Do some experimenting to try to find out why.
Then use the pictorial periodic table to understand what a metal is and just how common they actually are. You can even create a human circuit (how many people do you think you can include? hint - the record is over 1000...).
Using the LEDS provided and some foil, you can add light to any drawing, painting or model. The worksheets will take you through the basics of circuits and creatively explore making switches with light up artwork.
